1. Analyze Melinda's reaction to the first day of high school and why her fears seem more intense than that of others. Analyze why she say, "I am Outcast."
-She feels like she doesn't belong there. All her use to be friends are her ex-best friends
2. Examine the meanings of the "clans" and the prevalence of high school cliques. Why do we sometimes not like people who are really good at things, like sports, musix, art, or school? Is it fair? Are adults like this?
-Clicks are people have mostly everything in common and don't really hang with anyone elsebut them. Most adults have clicks too and its not fair because we should talk and surround ourselves with other people
3. Discuss the "first ten lies they tell you in high school". Compare with your first day. So you think Melinda's assumption that they are " lies" is vaild?
-My first day at school they said the same rules and she thought they were lies and I agree with her.
4. Examine Melinda's characterization of the teachers. What do these descripitions.
-She examine her teachers based on how they teach and look. It reflects on how she look at that teacher
5.Discuss Mr.Freeman's approach to teaching art. Have you had similar experiences in classes with this type of teaching style?
-He never had a class focusing just on one project to talk about all year. And yes i had a teacher like that
6.Discuss Melinda's home life. How does communication break down in Melinda's family? What could each person do to improve it? If you were a parent, how would you communication be in your family?
-They leave notes to talk to each other. And I would talking more sitting down with my family and face to face have a conversation
7. Discuss the interaction between Melinda and Heather. Are they friends? What brings them together?
-They are not really friends but since they are the new kids in the school they hang around each other
8. Are we sometimes different people on the outside than we are in the inside? How? Why is this ture, do you think?
-Yes we are sometimes different, You could be so mean on the outside but so sweet in the inside. Because we want to accepted by people
